and Isabella Amador, daughter of Francisco Lauryn.

Following a wedding trip to Paris, France, the couple live in Wise County.
The bride graduated from La Joya High School and the University of Texas – Pan
American. She is a graduate student at Texas Woman’s University.
The groom graduated from Decatur High School, Irvine Valley College in
California and Angelo State University in San Angelo.

Black Creek Farms in Decatur.

The bride is the daughter of Travis and Kay Coursey of Bridgeport.
The groom is the son of Harry Ames Sr. and Carol Terhune of Salamanca, N.Y., and
the late Sharon Ames.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a white, strapless, A-line gown in satin
that featured a side drape, beaded lace appliques and a chapel train. She also
donned a white headband that had white leaves, Swarovski crystals, pearls and a
scalloped veil.
She carried a bouquet of white roses, black Gerber daisies and turquoise mini
poms, accented with white pearls, white tulle and black feathers.
The bride’s son, Jonathan Coursey, stood beside her as she wed.
Best man was David Jackson.
Flower girl was Sophia Nelson, niece of the bride, and ringbearer was Kason
Nelson, nephew of the bride.
Guestbook attendant was Bryson Nelson, nephew of the bride. They are the
children of Adam and Kristen Nelson.
A reception was held in the Black Creek Farms party barn.
Following a two-night stay at The Nest at Beaver’s Bend in Broken Bow, Okla.,
the couple live in Bridgeport.
The bride graduated from Bridgeport High School in 1989 and earned a
bachelor’s of business administration from the University of North Texas in
1995. She works for Hulcher Services Inc.
The groom is studying information technology at UNT. He served in the Army
National Guard from August 1984 to November 1999 and in the Army from November
1999 to June 2008.

designer gown adorned with sequined lace and a train. She wore a cathedral veil
trimmed with rhinestones.
She carried a bouquet of white roses accented with lavender calla lillies.
Maid of honor was Angela Castorena. Bridesmaids were Jordan Smolinsky, Rya
McConnell, Elise Faith, Ashley Bridges, Ashli Trussell, Kim Rager, Laci

They wore lavender, floor-length gowns and carried bouquets of white hydrangeas.

Dr. C.M. and Jo Ann Cocanougher of Decatur will celebrate their 60th anniversary

Charles and Jo Ann Gary were married Aug. 28, 1954, in Fort Worth at Matthews
Memorial Methodist Church.
They have five children: Gary Cocanougher of Decatur, D’Ann Moore of Dallas,
Beth Short of Flint, Scott Cocanougher of Shelbyville, Tenn., and Mary Kay
Battaglia of Madison, Wis..
They have 11 grandchildren.
Charles is a veterinarian and owner of Cocanougher Properties Inc., and Jo Ann
is a housewife. Both are members of the First United Methodist Church in
Decatur, where Jo Ann helped organize rummage sales for many years.
She also partnered with Martha Hughes and Kitty Beth Dodson in finding and
selling collectible items.
Charles has been named Decatur Citizen of the Year, and he’s a past president
and member of the Decatur Chamber of Commerce, the Wise County Sheriff’s Posse
and the Wise County Division of the American Heart Association. He’s been a
Rotarian and Decatur city council member.
Charles served in the U.S. Air Force and as a reserve. He is a former member of
the Texas Aggie Band and in 2010 was named Outstanding Alumnus of Texas A&M
University College of Veterinary Medicine.
Charles and Jo Ann met at the Wise County Old Settlers Reunion, and after they
married, they lived in College Station, where Charles finished vet school while
Jo Ann worked for The Battalion, the school newspaper.
After he graduated, they moved to Denison where Charles began practicing
veterinary medicine. They subsequently moved back to Charles’ hometown of
Decatur where he set up his own practice in the old Cocanougher Feed Store. He
was then was called to serve in the Air Force and was stationed on Long Island,
N.Y.
After his military service, he set up what became the Wise County Animal Clinic
in Decatur. He and Jo Ann also were busy raising five children.
Charles began other business ventures including a self-storage facility and a
manufactured home community and also managed family businesses.
He and Jo Ann have traveled around the world with family and friends, and they
enjoy spending time and visiting with their children, grandchildren and other
family and friends.

Maid of honor was Holly Harris of Alvord. Bridesmaids included Whitney Curry,
cousin of the groom; Bea Trevino; and Courtney Dodge.
They wore long, strapless dresses in regency that featured crinkle chiffon and
godets. They carried bouquets of tangerine roses.
Flower girls were Kelcy Watkins, daughter of Matt and Lisa Watkins of Alvord,
and McKnylee Carter, daughter of Steven and Ashlee Carter of Decatur.

science. She is employed by Greenbelt Veterinary Hospital.

Onstead and Brinlee and Landry Lockett; and three great-grandchildren: Preston,
Natalie and Adrian Myers.
Mike retired from Lone Star Gas/TXU after more than 30 years. He works at
Weatherford International. Charlotte retired from the banking industry. They are
members of the Church of Christ.
Throughout the course of their marriage, the couple lived in several Texas towns
and were active in civic organizations and boards along the way, including Lions
Club, chambers of commerce, planning and zoning and economic development boards,
educational organizations and committees, Masonic Lodge, Eastern Star, business
women’s club and hospital auxiliaries.
The couple also dedicated countless hours to their children’s interests
including 4-H, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Camp Fire, Decatur Middle School Band
Boosters, Decatur Eagle Dolls, industrial arts and various sports.
The couple now enjoy showing their antique cars and have been involved with
local antique car clubs for many years.

Carrie, of Poolville and Lisa Long Bradshaw and husband, Steve, of Decatur; and
grandchildren – Libby Long of Poolville, Abby Long, who attends Texas
Christian University, Binion Long of Poolville, Lyndi Luttrull of Decatur,
Lauryn Luttrull of Decatur, Shelby Bradshaw of Decatur, Zack Bradshaw and wife,
Kelsea, of Plainview and Kyle Bradshaw of San Angelo.
The couple also has a great-grandson, Kutter Bradshaw of Plainview.
Wayne and the former Lynn Biggs were married June 26, 1964, in Ciudad Acu a,
Mexico.
The couple moved to Decatur in 1968 and bought Mobil Oil Wholesale from O.J. Van
Meter. They owned and operated Long Oil Co. for 20 years before selling it to
Sandford Oil in 1988.
Wayne is involved in farming and ranching. He is a member of the National
Cutting Horse Association and has served as a board member. He’s shown cutting
horses since 1983 and has won several NCHA titles, leading to his induction into
the NCHA Non-Pro Hall of Fame in 1997.
He is also a member of the American Quarter Horse Association. The family has
been riding, showing, raising and selling cutting horses for more than 35 years.
Wayne was a member of the Decatur Volunteer Fire Department for 18 years,
serving as chief four years. He was also president of the Wise County Youth Fair
Board for three years and of the Decatur Booster Club for two years.
Wayne is serving his second term on the USDA Wise County Soil and Water Board,
currently as treasurer.
Lynn is also a member of the NCHA and the AQHA. She has ridden and shown cutting
horses for more than 25 years, winning many awards. In 2007, she won the AQHA
Amateur Cutting Horse World Championship.
She served on the Wise County Youth Fair Board for eight years, and as Decatur
4-H Club organization leader for 20. She is still a Wise County 4-H leader with
four decades of service.
Lynn is a member of the Decatur Woman’s Club and General Federation of
Women’s Clubs – Texas, an organization for which she is serving as the
photography contest chairman. She will serve on the National Capital Committee
for two years and is a trustee of the GFWC/Texas Federation of Women’s Clubs
historical foundation.
She also serves on the Bryson High School Alumni Board and is president of the
Wise County Domestic Violence Task Force.
Lynn and daughter Lisa owned The Magic Pony, a women’s clothing store, for 19
years in Decatur.
The couple are members of the Decatur Church of Christ, where Lynn serves on the
board for the Helping Hands clothing ministry. The two have been active in
school functions and on various community, county and national boards.
