The bride-elect is a 2003 graduate of Bridgeport High School and a 2009 graduate of Weatherford College. She is a registered nurse at Wise Regional Health System.
The groom is a 2003 graduate of Bowie High School. He is employed by Richey Oilfield.

Jerry and Kay Mara of Decatur will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house hosted by their children 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 26, at the First Baptist Church Family Life Center in Decatur. Friends and family are asked to not bring gifts.
Jerry Mara and the former Kay Prestage were married July 1, 1961, in Gainesville.
They have three children, Sheri Mara of Ashville, N.C., and Perry Mara and Julie Britt, both of Decatur; and three grandchildren, Matthew, David and Ty.
Jerry is a dairy farmer. He is a member of the Wise County Sheriff’s Posse and sat on the Texas Maine-Anjou Association board of directors.
Kay owned Cozy Corner Hallmark and managed Messenger Hallmark, in Decatur. She is a past president of the Decatur Woman’s Club and is current president of the district federation.
They are members of First Baptist Church in Decatur, where she is an organist.

Jack McAsey and the former Sherry James were married Nov. 27, 1971, in West Memphis, Ark.
They have four daughters: Amy Norwood and husband, Larry, of Runaway Bay; Mandy Poe and husband, Toby, of Lindale; Sarah Richey of Bridgeport; and Sunni McAsey of Paradise. Their grandchildren are Devan McAsey-Perez, Landry Norwood, Ryan Norwood, Krista Richey, Luke Poe and Casey Poe.
Jack is a construction contractor and owner of Master’s Builders. Sherry is a librarian at Paradise High School. and a member of the Texas Librarians Association.

Donnie and Judy Parker of Alvord celebrated their 50th anniversary with a cruise to Alaska and entertaining friends and family at the home of their daughter and family.
Donnie and the former Judy McClung were married July 21, 1961, at Zion Valley Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Chico.
They have two children, son Brent Parker and wife, Cindy, of Prosper, and daughter Donnette Hicks and husband, Larry, of Alvord; and five grandchildren.
Donnie retired from a 40-year banking career where he was a loan officer and vice-president. Judy retired from a 37-year teaching career where she taught at Alvord, Slidell and Decatur.
Both are active members at the Zion Valley Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Donnie is an elder and a Sunday school teacher. Judy is a pianist and Sunday school teacher.

The bride is the daughter of Brent and Cindy Duncan of Decatur.
The groom is the son of Chris and Debbie Dowdy of Cleburne and William Pruett of Clifton.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a taffeta lace halter dress with an a-line skirt and a side drape with beaded lace appliques and chapel-length train. Her shoulder-length veil was accented with a tiara.
She carried a bouquet of calla lilies that was adorned at the stems with a mother-of-pearl pendant from Israel that belonged to the her late great-grandmother.
Maid of honor was Shayna Huegel of Waco. Bridesmaids were Courtney Dillon of Little Rock, Ark., and Shanda Edwards of Fort Worth.
Attendants wore their choice of dress in fuschia chiffon. They carried bouquets of brightly-colored gerbera daisies.
Flower girls were Natalie Huegel of Waco, daughter of Andy and Shayne Huegel, and Haven Berry of Hewitt, daughter of Brandon and Jeanie Berry.
Ringbearers were Wyatt and Tate Turner of Decatur, cousins of the bride and sons of Brian and Michelle Turner.
Best man was William Pruett, father of the groom. Groomsmen were Nathaniel Patterson of Hewitt and Michael Bixby of Valley Mills.
Ushers were Brian Turner of Decatur, uncle of the bride, Jeremy Herring of Gatesville and Brandon Berry of Hewitt.

Pianist was Stephanie White. The bride marched down the aisle to a saxophone played by the Rev. Jeff White. Soloists were Michael and Michelle Bixby.

Escorted by her father and daughter, Annabelle Teran, the bride wore a strapless, ivory gown that featured a satin bodice with a sweetheart neckline and an angled drop waist. Layers of organza ruffles cascaded to the floor and formed a four-foot train.
Her headpiece was a small net studded with rhinestones and a flower, which she wore to the side. She carried a bouquet of cascading ivory orchids and wine calla lilies.
Maid of honor was Danielle Sams of Alvord, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Serria Teran of Decatur, sister of the groom, and Andrea Frazier of Garland, cousin of the bride.
Bridal attendants wore floor-length gowns of wine chiffon with a beaded empire waist. They carried long-stem white calla lilies.
Flower girl was the couple’s daughter. She wore a satin, ivory dress with organza overlay.
Best man was Brendon Dane of Denton. Groomsmen were Kaleb Hineman-Hughes of Spring and T.J. Brami of Huffman.
Guestbook attendant was Makenzie Fox of Decatur, sister of the groom.
Violinist Paul Tullis played the wedding march and Adam Sandler’s “I Wanna Grow Old With You.”
The bride’s parents hosted a reception at their home.

The bride-elect is a graduate of Bridgeport High School, Oral Roberts University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting, and Oklahoma State University, where she earned a master’s of business administration. She is employed as a certified fraud examiner at Workman Forensics.
The prospective groom is a graduate of Lincoln Christian School and is a student at Oklahoma State University. He is employed by Opveon Litigation Services.

Tommy and Virginia Williams of Decatur celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Oct. 29.
Tommy Williams and the former Virginia Starnes were married Oct. 29, 1951, at Corinth Baptist Church just east of Decatur.
They have two sons, Randy Williams and wife, Pam, of Bridgeport and Carey Williams and wife, Amanda, of Decatur; a daughter, Shrea Chapman and husband, Donald, of Decatur; five grandchildren; one step-grandchild; four great-grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.
Tommy retired from Mrs. Bairds after 30 years of service in Wise County and owned and operated Tom’s Pool Service. Both are members of the First Baptist Church of Decatur.

The bride-elect expects to graduate from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls in May 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in education: grades 4-8 mathematics.
The prospective groom is a graduate of Texas A&M University with a bachelor’s of business administration in management. He is employed by Devon Energy Production Co.

Kandace Joann Schuelke, daughter of Kenneth and Patty Schuelke of Stanton, will marry Corbin Heath Young, son of Ren and Leisha Young and grandson of Preston Lowery and Loyce Lowery, all of Paradise, Dec. 31, 2011, at the Circle Six Ranch Baptist Tabernacle in Stanton.
The bride-elect is a 2008 graduate of Grady ISD. She expects to graduate from Howard Payne University in Brownwood in May 2012 with a degree in biology.
The prospective groom is a 2006 graduate of Paradise High School. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Christian studies from Howard Payne. He is working toward his master’s of art degree in theology and is an area representative for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
