The bride is the daughter of Diana Cowan of Krum and James McCook of Broad Brook, Conn. The groom is the son of the late Kathleen Pierce of Houston and Michael Martin of Aurora, Colo. The couple hosted friends and family at Puerto Aventuras, Mexico, for a symbolic beach wedding ceremony the weekend following their wedding. A reception was held June 27 at the Masonic Temple in Fort Worth for those who could not attend the beach wedding. The bride is a 2002 graduate of Slidell High School and a 2006 graduate of the University of Texas at Austin. She is working on a nursing degree. The groom is a partner at Martin Group Building, LLC. The couple lives in Fort Worth.

Escorted by her father, the bride wore a strapless, ivory A-line gown in chiffon with a pleated surplice bodice, a beaded empire waist and sweep train. She carried a bouquet of yellow roses. Maid of honor was Candice Carter and bridesmaids were Lana Boner, Christie Sherrell and Payton Boner. Attendants wore strapless, knee-length clover green chiffon dresses and carried bouquets of yellow roses. Flowergirls were Kallie Boner and Jada Boner, daughters of Kenny and Lana Boner. Ringbearer was Charlie Mascardo, son of Dom and Lisa Mascardo. Best man was Christian Munsch and groomsmen were Tom Amrhein, Nathan Dossey and Kenny Boner. Deric Merrill played the piano and sang a solo at the ceremony. Lana Boner was also a soloist. A reception hosted by Charlie and Holly East at Thistle Hill followed the ceremony. Servers were Melanie Munsch and Kyla Gaona. The bride is a 1999 graduate of Decatur High School and a 2003 graduate of the University of North Texas. She is employed at Advogo. Escorted by her sons, Justin, Jason, Jacob and Jesse Cox of Chico, she wore a white satin dress with an empire skirt that featured embroidery at the hem and bodice, buttons down the back, a halter style neckline and a semi-cathedral length train. She wore hairpins made of antique aqua-colored rhinestones. She carried a bouquet of hand-tied white alstroemeria lilies. Matron of honor was Len Schwake. Flowergirl was Kaitlyn Bedford, daughter of Trey and Shannon Bedford. Candlelighters and ushers were Jesse Cox and Rohman Moffit. Ringbearer was Ryder Cox, son of Justin and Raquel Cox. The groom's honor attendant was Ruby Teets. Guestbook attendant was Megan Terry. A reception hosted by the bride and groom followed the ceremony at The Country Abbey. She graduated from Vanderbilt University with a concentration in opera performance and received a master's in international affairs from George Washington University. She is a diplomat in the Foreign Service at the Department of State and is currently serving in Hanoi, Vietnam. The groom is the son of Twila Nelon and A. G. "Rusty" Nelon of Boyd and Steve McClain and Kathy McClain of Azle. He is a 2008 graduate of Boyd High School. He is a sergeant in the U. S. Marine Corps and is serving his second tour in Iraq as a combat engineer. He has served at Camp Pendleton, Calif. ; Cairo, Egypt; Madrid, Spain; and Kampala, Uganda, where he served as a Marine Security Guard working for the regional security office at embassies worldwide.

McGilvray Jr. of Boyd and Kim K. McGilvray of Paradise. Escorted by her father, the bride wore an ivory satin pick-up ball gown with a satin champagne cuff neckline, a lace-up back and cathedral train. She wore a double-layer ivory tulle veil with rolled satin edging, given to her by her grandmother in memory of her grandfather. She wore a baby blue garter and a Texas A&M University garter. Honorary matron of honor was Sherri Naugle of Rhome and maid of honor was Tami Jo Russell of Granbury. Justin Culpepper, brother of the bride, was the man of honor. Bridesmaids were Chancy Huffman of Irving, Kristin Poynor of Haslet, Jocelyn Kamp and Mary Marcum of Lubbock and Tamara Wood of Waco. Flowergirl was Grace Kidd, daughter of Brett and Kristin Kidd. Bubble girls were Derian and Jayda Snodgrass, daughters of Derek and Melissa Snodgrass, and Kaitlyn Kidd, daughter of Brannon and Christi Kidd. Bestman was Russell Park. Honorary groomsmen were Dr. Heath Sims of Roanoke, Va., and David Wayne Jenkins of Houston. She is employed by Agrilife Extension Service of Wise County as the 4-H program assistant. The groom is a 2005 graduate of Texas A&M University with a bachelor of science in agricultural economics. The groom is a graduate of Decatur High School and completed combat medic training with A Company 232nd Medical Brigade, at Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio. The couple will make their home in Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, where the groom is stationed with the U. S. Army.

Jerry and the former Nancy Potts were married Aug. 9, 1959, in Petersburg, Ind. Their children are Kelly of Decatur, Dan of Denton, David of Lockhart and Laci Bean of Cross Plains. They have nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Jerry is an airline pilot and Nancy is a housewife. Both are members of the Greenwood Church of Christ.

The off-the shoulder bodice was embroidered with tone-on-tone flowers and featured soutache braiding, crystal beading, sequins and pearls. The V-shaped dropped waist featured a large bow atop a two-tier cutwork flounce in the back. The skirt was full and its hem, as well as the neckline, were embellished with Celtic knotwork, pearls and open cutwork. Her headpiece was an elbow-length veil of glimmer illusion tulle with a crystal rhinestone tiara. She carried a bouquet of white Alba lilies, white roses and carnations, stephanotis, pink and white amaryllis, blue Star of Bethlehem, Baby Blue Eyes, lime-green button chrysanthemums, white organza, crystals and pearls. Maid of honor was Stachia Splawn, half sister of the bride. She wore a pale blue satin empire-waist, floor-length gown with a georgette overlay and wrap. The bodice was accented with white crystal rhinestones. She also wore crystal earrings and a blue pearl and crystal necklace, which was a gift from the bride. Bridesmaid was Sarah Stone. She wore a sage green empire-waist, floor-length halter gown with a wrap and rhinestone accent at the center of the bodice. She also wore crystal earrings and a jadeite, pearl and crystal necklace, which was a gift from the bride. They carried bouquets of two white roses, blue Star of Bethelhem and lime-green button chrysanthemums. Flower girl was Destiny O'Dell, sister of the groom. Ringbearer was Jacob O'Dell, brother of the groom. Best man was Chad O'Dell, cousin of the groom. Groomsman was Kody Mann, brother of the bride. Ushers were Matthew O'Dell and Tyler Hughes. As a musical tribute to the bride's late father, "Words I Would Say" as recorded by the Street Prophets was played. Ronald and Carla Womack of Decatur will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Dec. 23, 2009.
Ronald Womack and the former Carla Shelton were married Dec. 23, 1959, in Decatur. They have three daughters, Angela Musgrave and husband, Mike, and Pam Leija and husband, George, both of Decatur, and Charla Smith and husband, Monte, of Valley View; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Ronald is retired from TxDOT and is a volunteer at the Wise County Heritage Museum, a member of the Wise County Historical Society and Sons of the Confederate Veterans and a deacon at New Salem Free Will Baptist Church. Carla is a housewife, a volunteer at the Wise County Heritage Museum and a member of the Wise County Historical Society and New Salem Free Will Baptist Church. The couple's children will host an anniversary party 2 to 5 p. m. Saturday, Dec. 5, at the New Salem Free Will Baptist Church.

Jennifer Kae Roemisch and Jeremiah Johnson Young, both of Snyder, were married March 14, 2009, at Colonial Hill Baptist Church in Snyder. Alan D. Culp, uncle of the bride, with the First Baptist Church in Hermleigh, officiated the double ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Joe and Debbie Roemisch of Hermleigh. The groom is the son of Donald and Cindy Willis of Decatur, Larry Johnson of Bridgeport and Billy Young of Decatur. Escorted by her father, the bride wore a satin, A-line gown in classic white that featured intricate beadwork on an embroidered bodice, cap sleeves with beaded floral motif, an inverted V-empire waistline and crystals that dangled along the edge of the cathedral train. Her headpiece was a fingertip-length, two-tier veil with a scalloped beaded edge. She carried a garden style nosegay bouquet that included red roses, cranberry carnations and eggplant moon carnations, baby's breath and rolled purple tea leaves accented with white diamond pearls and silver filament wire. Matron of honor was Randi K. Porter of Lubbock. Bridesmaids were Lyndsay Llewellyn of Keller and Amanda Roemisch of Snyder, sister-in-law of the bride. Honor attendants wore lapis purple dresses of jersey fabric in different styles and carried a miniature version of the bride's bouquet. Flower girl was Madison Roemisch, cousin of the bride. Ringbearer was Ryker Byrom, cousin of the bride. Best man was Travis Cox of Irving. Groomsmen were Ben Young of Wichita Falls, brother of the groom, and Jeremy Roemisch of Snyder, brother of the bride. Ushers were Donald Willis, Terry Sutton, Grant Goodrich and Ty Porter. Guestbook attendant was Kimberly Goodrich. Soloists Samantha Medrano and Tosha McGlouthin sang "Realize" and "At Last," respectively. A reception hosted by the bride's parents and D'Ann Preston, aunt of the bride, followed the ceremony at the Colonial Hill Baptist Church Family Life Center. Servers were Michelle Byrom of Hermleigh, Nicole Milhauser of Snyder, Chrissy Coleman of Howe and Benita Soto of Eastland. The bride is a 1999 graduate of Hermleigh High School and earned a bachelor's in multidisciplinary studies with a minor in business administration from McMurry University in 2004. She is employed by Snyder ISD as a cross country, track and basketball coach and a sixth grade pre-athletics teacher. The groom is a 1997 graduate of Decatur High School. He is employed by West Texas State Bank in Snyder. Following a wedding trip to the Grand Cayman Islands, the couple live in Snyder.
