Thomas and Marjorie Maxwell of Fort Worth will celebrate their 50th wedding
anniversary Saturday, Aug. 27, 2005, with a pot-luck dinner hosted by Tracy and
Julie Maxwell from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Handley Meadowbrook Lion’s Club.
Maxwell and the former Marjorie Parker were married Sept. 2, 1955, at Handley
Baptist Church in Fort Worth. A retired principal, coach and referee, he still
serves as a substitute principal. She is a former school teacher. Thomas Maxwell
is a Mason and received both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from North
Texas State University. Marjorie Maxwell received her bachelor’s degree from
Texas Wesleyan College in Fort Worth.
He is a member of the National Association of Secondary School Principals and
the National Education Association and the Southern Football Officials
Association, the Southern Basketball Officials Association and the Texas State
Teachers Association.
Their children are Tracy Maxwell of Fort Worth, Jeff Maxwell of Greenwood and
the late Matthew Maxwell.

Escorted by her father, the bride wore a white satin A-line dress with beaded,
sleeveless bodice and a white veil and carried a bouquet of white roses.
Lindsay Kirklin of Pearland was the matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Michelle
Miller of Royse City, sister of the bride, Bonnie Menges of Lexington, Ky.,
Elizabeth Zapata of Houston, Jami Burns of Weatherford, sister of the groom and

with asymmetrical wrap. The bodice was accented with white embroidery and
beading.
Her cathedral-length veil was held in place by a pearl headpiece. She carried a
hand-tied bouquet of white roses.
Matron of honor was Alisha Alvey-Birch of Fort Worth, sister of the bride.
Bridesmaid was Katherine Grube of Irving, sister of the bride. The honor
attendants wore black satin dresses and carried hand-tied bouquets of pink
roses.
The best man was Bart Mosley of Decatur, brother of the groom. Groomsman was
Craig Stevenson of Odessa, brother-in-law of the groom.

long-stemed roses and calla lilies in fall colors.

Holcomb, daughter-in-law of the bride.
The honor attendants wore pale green gowns with silver threaded jackets. They
each carried a single terra cotta calla lily.
Flower girls were Jenna Holcomb of Wichita Falls, daughter of James and Kelli
Holcomb, Anna Pflaster of Temple, daughter of Sharon Pflaster and Elyse Maxwell
of Denton, daughter of John and Jennifer Maxwell.
Best man was James Slocom of Alvord, nephew of the groom. Groomsman was Cameron
Parson of Alvord, grandson of the groom.
Ushers were Joshua and Jimmy Holcomb of Wichita Falls, grandsons of the bride,
Matthew Holcomb of Gladewater, grandson of the bride, and Joey Reneau of Alvord,
nephew of the groom.

Escorted by her father, the bride wore a three-piece strapless satin gown with
lace, beading and embroidery. Her headpiece was a waist-length veil with beaded
and sequined trim. She carried a bouquet of red and white roses.
Maid of honor was Melisa Enriquez, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were
Samantha Webster and Lindsay Foster, both of Boyd, and Janie and JoAnna Patiño
of Bridgeport, both sisters of the groom. The honor attendants wore red A-line
gowns with spaghetti-strap halters that featured beads and sequins at the
necklines and waists. They carried bouquets of red and white roses.
Flower girls were Teresa Huerta of Bridgeport, niece of the groom, daughter of
Octario and Juana Huerta; Jessica Avila of Amarillo, daughter of Armando and
Laura Avila; Izamar Galaviz of Lawton, Okla., daughter of Cesar and Diana

Clarence Pennartz and the former Lillian Decker were married Oct. 2, 1965, at
St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Rhineland.
Clarence was a carpenter for 30 years and owner of Pennartz Dairy for 40 years.
Lillian graduated from Draughms Business School and worked as a stenographer for
Texaco before becoming a homemaker. She returned to work for 16 years at the
Denton State School, from which she retired.
They are members of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in
Decatur.
They have eight children, Ann Penny and husband, Lindsey, of Georgetown, Mary

Raven is a graduate of Texas A&M University and is a retired engineer from
Vaught Aircraft. Peggy is a graduate of the University of Texas. They lived in
Arlington for many years before retiring to Lake Bridgeport. They have three
sons, Tim and his wife, Judy, and Barry, of the Metroplex area, and Greg of
Plantation, Fla.

June 26 with a family dinner at Saltgrass Steak House hosted by their children.
Sam Rector and the former Bobbie Lewter were married June 26, 1955, at the First
United Methodist Church in Sanger.
They are both graduates of Sanger High School and members of Bell Baptist
Church.
Bobbie graduated from North Texas State College, now the University of North
Texas, and taught for 32 years. She retired in 1991 after teaching fourth grade
in Decatur for 26 years.
Sam graduated from Texas A&M University and NTSC. He taught vocational
agriculture for 39 years. He retired in 1991 after 23 years with Decatur
Independent School District. He also attended Southwestern Baptist Theological
Seminary and was a pastor for 30 years. He retired from Bell Baptist Church in
1998 after 28 years.
They have four children, Dale Rector and wife, Mary Lynn, of Crowley, Mark
Rector and wife, Susan, of Paradise, Lee Ann Arrington and husband, Mitch, of
Bridgeport, and Rhonda Enis and husband, Curtis, of Alvord; and nine
grandchildren, Lacie and Ryan Rector, Taylor and Haley Rector, Lindsey, Emily

was also accented with beaded Venice lace and had a cathedral train. Her
headpiece was a silver and crystal tiara with fingertip-length veil.
She carried a cascading bouquet of yellow roses, bluebonnets, solidego, blue
delphinium, purple statice, wax flower, misty blue, hot pink asters and
greenery.

Betty is employed as a medical laboratory technologist for Harris Methodist

Agnes. They have two children, Norma Jo Stephens and Trevor Stephens.
They are both retired from the Springtown Independent School District and are

Lawrence L. and Wilma Stokes of Decatur will celebrate their 50th wedding
anniversary with a reception hosted by their children on Saturday, April 9,
2005, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Decatur Civic Center.
Stokes and the former Wilma Tipping of Blooming Grove married April 8, 1955, in
El Paso, at Highland Park Methodist Church. Both graduated from what is now
Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth. They are retired educators. He taught
math at O.D. Wyatt High School in Fort Worth and Trinity High School in Euless;
she taught first grade at Stonegate Elementary School in Bedford. He served in
the U.S. Army in Texas, South Dakota and Japan during the Korean War and spent
22 years in the Air Force Reserve.
They are members of Bell Baptist Church in Decatur and enjoy traveling.
The couple’s three children and their spouses are Cathy Lawren Jensen of
Mansfield, Loys and Cherisse Stokes of Decatur, and Stacie and Tom Willuhn of
Arlington. They have 10 grandchildren.

The bride is the daughter of Marty and Michelle Bush of Boyd.
The groom is the son of John Michael Sullivan and Donna Fuller of Granbury.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a gown made by her mother, using ivory
satin and the vintage lace from the wedding dress worn by the bride’s great
aunt, Sandy Harrison, in 1960. The veil also was made by her mother. The gown
and veil were trimmed with antique pearl accents. Lace appliqués on the veil
came from her aunt Denise Moore’s bridal veil. Both the bride’s mother and
aunt wore the original lace dress in the 1980s.
The bride’s flowers were a mix of fall colors.
Matron of honor was Ashley Proa of Denton. Maid of honor was Jayme Marrs of
Boyd. Bridesmatrons were Laine Cawthon of Boyd and Mandi Mottern of
Stephenville. Bridesmaids were Jessica Browning of Boyd, Jodie Sullivan, the
groom’s sister, of Granbury and Meagan Lawlis, the bride’s cousin, of
Southlake.
Honor attendants wore dark green satin gowns each accented with a different fall
color. All bridesmaids’ and flower girls’ dresses were made by the bride’s
mother.
Best man was Travis Kress of Granbury. Attending the best man was Nick Claunch,
the groom’s brother, of Fort Worth. Groomsmen were Kane Lindsey of Granbury
and Joseph and Matthew Bush, the bride’s brothers, of Boyd.
Flowers girl were Hailey Smith, daughter of Paul and Amy Smith and cousin of the
bride, of Weatherford, and Zara Griffon, daughter of Gaylon and Sandy Griffon,
of Granbury.

A-line skirt had an organza overlay and chapel-length train. The bride wore
flowers in her hair. She carried a cascade of vandella roses, stephenotis, mini
calla lilies, Italian ruscus, English ivy and viburnum.
Maid of honor was Katy Kemp, sister of the bride, of College Station.
Bridesmaids were Ashly Coker and Carla Summers, sister of the groom, both of
Decatur, and Chelsea Brady of Whitesboro, cousin of the groom.
Bridesmaids carried nosegays of coral, green and white carnations, roses and
viburnum. The maid of honor wore a tea-length organdy dress in coral with a
starlight hem in ivory and a mid-waist ribbon, also in ivory. The other
bridesmaids wore a tea-length organdy dress in coral with matching coral
starlight hem and mid-waist ribbon.
Flower girls were Sarah Miller, cousin of the groom and daughter of Wayne and
Kim Miller of Justin, and Madison Miller, cousin of the groom and daughter of
Bill and Tarri Miller of Arlington.
Best man was Curtis Erickson of San Marcos. Also attending the groom were Clint
Summers, brother of the groom, and Kyle Kemp, brother of the bride, both of
Decatur, and Beau Brady, cousin of the groom, of Whitesboro. They also served as

George Washburn and the former LaRue Rose were married Feb. 24, 1955, in
Ardmore, Okla.
They have three daughters, Pennye Washburn of Homer, La., Lisa Copeland of Enid,
Okla., and Candi Clarke of Colleyville; nine grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren.
George retired from Bass, Sid Richardson Oil and Gas.
They are members of bridge clubs in Runaway Bay and the Runaway Bay Community
Church.

anniversary.
Harrell White and the former Bonnie Dempsey were married Jan. 13, 1945, in the
Decatur home of the Rev. Cecil Cooper.
They have one son, Paul White of Fort Worth, and the late Leon White of
Stephenville. They also have five grandchildren, Kim Owen of Spring Hill, Tenn.,
Kany Butz of Arlington, Chris White of Decatur, Brandi White of Stillwater,
Okla., and Bethany White-Turner of Denton; and nine great-grandchildren.
Harrell is a retired truck driver and Bonnie is a retired nurse.

Traci Chambless of Bridgeport and Lisa Winter of Whitesboro. They wore
floor-length black dresses with spaghetti straps and black shawls trimmed in
leopard print. Their black shoes had clear heels and were adorned with
rhinestones. They carried bouquets of red roses with baby’s breath made by
Anna Avila of Canyon, cousin of the bride, and Linda Foster of Amarillo, aunt of
the bride.
Flowergirl was Heather Avila of Canyon, cousin of the bride, daughter of Ramon
and Anna Avila. Candle lighters were the twin brothers of the bride. Ringbearer

Escorted by her father, the bride wore an ivory satin sheath A-line gown with
sheer beaded lace back and neckline, pleated back and trumpet skirt. She carried
a bouquet of Casablanca lilies and purple roses.
Bridesmaids were Leah Brazier and Angela Munn, cousins of the bride. They wore
gowns of Victorian lilac satin and carried bouquets of purple roses matching the
bride’s bouquet.
Flower girl was Ashlyn Winters, daughter of the bride and groom. She wore an
ivory satin A-line gown with beaded empire bodice and hem.
The groomsmen were Jimmy Winters Jr., brother of the groom, and John Martin,
brother of the bride. Ring bearer was Garrett Winters, son of the groom. They
all wore black tux jackets, white shirts with bow ties and khaki shorts with
leather flip-flops.
Guestbook attendants were Felica Munn, cousin of the bride, and Loren Gonzales,
niece of the groom. Pianist was Sherita Wesley of Decatur and soloist was
Felicia Simpson of Paradise.
The reception immediately followed with dinner, dancing and karaoke. The house
