Jodi Michelle Ellis of Danbury, daughter of Donnis and Jo Lynn Ellis of Danbury, will marry Shawn Saylor Mann of Pearland, son of Rusty and Monica Mann of Bridgeport, on Aug. 2, 2003, at the Lake Jackson Civic Center in Lake Jackson.
The bride-elect graduated from Danbury High School and earned a bachelor of science in biomedical science from Texas A&M University. She is attending Alvin Community College and will graduate with a degree in nursing in May 2004. She is employed by Memorial Hermann Southeast Hospital in Houston.
The prospective groom graduated from Bridgeport High School and earned a bachelor of business Administration degree in finance from Texas A&M University and is employed by Comerica Bank in Houston.

Mara - Jack and Mildred Mara
Sixty-fifth wedding anniversary Aug. 13, 2003
Jack and Mildred Mara of Decatur will celebrate their 65 wedding anniversary from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 10 at the Decatur Civic Center.
Mara and the former Mildred Fellers were married in Denton on Aug. 13, 1938, by the Rev. Frank Weedon of the First Baptist Church of Denton.
Jack is a retired truck driver and Mildred is a homemaker.
Their children, Roy Mara and David Mara of Decatur and Pam Williams of Bridgeport will host the celebration. They are also parents of the late Jimmy Wayne Mara and have eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

The bride-elect is a graduate of Paradise High School and is a junior in the elementary education program at the University of North Texas.
The prospective groom is a graduate of Paradise High School and Weatherford College and is attending Hi-Tech Institute’s surgical tech program.

Jessica Nichole Miller of Lewisville, daughter of Craig and Deb Miller of Sulphur Springs and Mark Andrew McDonald of Lewisville, son of Jim and Julie McDonald of Decatur, will exchange wedding vows on May 17, 2003, at the Methodist Church in Sulphur Springs.
The bride-elect is working on her master’s degree in Early Childhood at the University of North Texas and is employed at Children’s Courtyard in Irving.
The prospective groom is a 1998 graduate of Decatur High School. He attended Tarrant County College and is employed by Martinaire at Addison Airport in Addison.

Marriage vows exchanged May 17, 2003
Jessica Nichole Miller and Mark Andrew McDonald, both of Lewisville, were married May 17, 2003, at the First United Methodist Church in Sulphur Springs. Gifford Long officiated the double ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Deb and Craig Miller of Sulphur Springs.
The groom is the son of Jim and Julie McDonald of Decatur.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a white, strapless A-line gown with hand-embroidered detail, a bodice trimmed with sparkling gems and a satin-lined skirt.
The bride carried two dozen long-stemmed crimson red roses.
The maid of honor was Stacy Miller of Lewisville, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Ashley Yarbrough of Lewisville and Amy Parker of Plano. The honor attendants wore floor-length royal blue gowns with spaghetti straps and carried crimson red roses.
The flower girl was Lauren Leazer, daughter of Ronnie and Michelle Leazar of Allen.
The best man was Kevin McDonald of Decatur, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Brian Kinder of Lewisville and Oscar Fuentes of Denton. Ushers were John Rhine of Plano, cousin of the groom, David Yarbrough of Carrollton, cousin of the groom, and Rodney Connor of Frisco.
Ringbearer was Griffin DaRosa, son of Paul and Jennifer DaRosa of Sulphur Springs.
The guestbook attendant was Beth Connor of Frisco. Organ music was provided by Mark Begs of Sulphur Springs, and Deanna Darr of Arlington was a soloist.
A reception was held at the Heritage Hall in Sulphur Springs. Servers were Janay Holley of Lewisville, Stephanie Peters of South Carolina, cousin of the bride, and Angie Masters of The Colony.
The bride is a 1997 graduate of Sulphur Springs High School and a 2001 graduate of Baylor University. She currently attends the University of North Texas and works at Children’s Courtyard in Irving. The groom is a 1998 graduate of Decatur High School and attended Tarrant County College. He is curently employed at Martinaire at Addison Airport.
Following a honeymoon in Hawaii, the couple live in Frisco.

McMaster - Mickey and Susan McMaster
Twenty-fifth wedding anniversary Sept. 30, 2003
Mickey and Susan McMaster of Decatur celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary Sept. 30.
The former Susan Baker married Mickey McMaster on Sept. 30, 1978, in Morton.
He is co-owner of McMaster New Holland and she is a medical assistant at North Central Texas Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine.
They have two children, Leaha Fallis of Springtown and Lance McMaster of Waco and two grandchildren.

Mills - Roy and Peggy Mills
Fiftieth wedding anniversary April 3, 2003
Roy and Peggy Mills of Roanoke will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on April 3. They were married in 1953 in Fort Worth.
The Mills own a ranch near Paradise. Mills has retired after 30 years as manager of the Double T Ranch in Justin. Peggy owns the Abundant Life Health Food Store in Lewisville.
Both are graduates of Northwest High School. He served in the U. S. Army at Fort Benning, Ga.. The Mills are parents of three children, Pam Glover of Lewisville, Tina Ernst of Dallas and Greg Mills of Roanoke. They have 13 grandchildren.

Angel Sperry of Decatur and Darrell Morgan Jr. of Alvord were married Feb. 8, 2003, at the House of Prayer Church in Haltom City. The Rev. Davy Smith, pastor of Bible-Way Church of Decatur and The Rev. Mike Maxon Sr. of DeKalb, former pastor of Bible-Way, officiated.
The bride is the daughter of David and Rita Sperry of Decatur.
The groom is the son of Karen and Darrell C. Morgan Sr. of Alvord.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a white satin gown with an intricately beaded bodice and edging along the hemline. The cathedral train featured beadwork along the last foot and the veil was white tulle with a pearl and diamond tiara.
The bride carried a cascading bouquet of burgandy, eggplant, sage and buttercup flowers.
The matron of honor was Darla Flynn, sister of the bride. Maid of honor was Karla Morgan, sister of the groom. Bridesmaids were Wendy Call, sister of the groom, and Summor Gosnell.
The flower girl was Carrigan Flynn and Bible bearer was Kyler Flynn, niece and nephew of the bride. Candlelighters were Alicia Smith, sister of the groom, William Flynn, brother-in-law of the bride, and Kylan Gosnell.
The best man was Kevin Jaquez and groomsmen were David Sperry Jr., brother of the bride, and Josh Neagle.
The guestbook attendant was Ehlanna Call, niece of the groom.
The couple reside in Alvord.

Morris - Arlon and Bobbie Morris
Fortieth wedding anniversary Feb. 7, 2003
Arlon and Bobbie Morris of Red Bud will celebrate their fiftieth wedding anniversary Feb. 8, 2003.
Arlon Morris married Bobbie Martin Feb. 7, 1953, at the home of her parents,W.D. and Attie Martin in Fort Worth. Arlon’s parents were Leslie and Winnie Morris.
Their children, Audie and Lynn Morris, Bettie and Mark German and Peggy and Russell Black, will host a reception for the couple Saturday, Feb. 8 at the Morris Memorial United Methodist Church in Chico.
They have five grandchildren, April Morris, Taylor and Morgan German and Braiden and Skylar Black, all of Chico.
The Morris’ have made their home north of Chico in the Red Bud community where they farm and ranch. Arlon worked as an oil field driller and pumper for many years, and they both drove school buses for the Chico Independent School District for 28 years.

The bride-elect is a graduate of Decatur High School and is employed at Mercantile Bank Texas in Fort Worth.
The prospective groom is also a graduate of Decatur High School. He is employed at Boeing in Corinth.

Amy Elizabeth North of Decatur, daughter of Michael and Beverly North of Decatur, and Michael Bart Mosley of Decatur, son of David and Cheryl Mosley of Decatur, were married April 19, 2003, at Eagle Drive Baptist Church in Decatur. The groom’s grandfather, Rev. Don Spain, officiated the double ring ceremony.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a short-sleeved A-line white satin gown with beaded bodice. It featured an apron back, scoop neck, a chapel length train with buttons and bow and a waist length veil with ribbon trim. She wore a necklace and earrings given to her by her mother and carried a bouquet of spring flowers including yellow roses.
The maid of honor was Blair Fanning of Artesia, N.M., cousin of the bride. The bridesmaid was Brandi Chambers of Decatur.
The best man was Scott Mosley of Decatur, brother to the groom. The groomsman was Craig Stevenson of Decatur.
Ringbearer was Tanner Terrell, son of Tim and Rayanna Terrell of Decatur.
Ushers included Mark North of Sherman, Andy North of Arlington and Brandon Turner of Decatur.
The pianist was Annette Riley of Decatur.
A reception was held at Rann Elementary in Decatur. Members of the reception party were Ashley Campbell of Decatur, Jennifer Spain of Decatur, Cathy Bradshaw of Fort Worth, Cindy Taokett of Boyd, Elizabeth Jennings of Azle and Callie Scheuermann of Arlington.
The wedding trip was to Playa del Carmen, Mexico.
The bride is a graduate of Decatur High School and is employed as a deposit services representative at Mercantile Bank Texas in Fort Worth.

Holly Jill Jack, daughter of Galen and Keri Jack of Friona, married Justin Thomas Noble, son of Lannie and Dani Noble of Paradise on March 15, 2003, at Monterey Baptist Church in Lubbock. The Rev. Brown officiated.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore an ivory chiffon gown featuring pearls and sequins and adorned with schiffli lace at the hem, bodice and illusion neckline. The dress had a cathedral train, off-the-shoulder cap sleeves and an A-line princess waist. The ivory fingertip veil had satin rolled edges and rhinestone and pearl accents as did the silver tiara. Pearl and diamond earrings and bracelet and a pearl necklace were borrowed from the bride’s grandmother, Billy Kirby of Dimmitt. The bride carried ivory roses and a gardenia clutch with stems wrapped in ivory ribbon.
Matron of honor was Teresa Jack, sister-in-law of the bride of Idalou.
Bridesmaids were Jessica Rea of Lubbock, Abbey Johnson of Arlington and Amanda Taylor of San Angelo. They wore two-piece floor-length dresses with cap sleeves in sage green as well as a pearl necklace and bracelet, gifts of the bride. They carried an antique hydrangea, roses and ranunculus clutch in burgundy, mauve and ivory with stems wrapped in burgundy ribbon.
Junior bridesmaids were the bride’s cousins from Amarillo, Callie Crum and Berkley Kirby.
Best man was Shawn Price of Weatherford, brother of the groom. Other groomsmen were Kelly Jack, brother of the bride of Idalou, Seth Kolb of Lubbock and Scott Corkery of North Richland Hills.
Ushers were Matt Luce and Paul Maney of Lubbock and Ethan Kuhleman of Haltom City.
Sarah Plemons of Austin attended the guest book.
Sherri Taylor of Friona played the piano.
Britt and LeeAnn Conklin of Weatherford performed a duet.
A reception was held in the church fellowship hall. Servers were Whitney Kirby, the bride’s aunt of Amarillo, Carla Wooten, the bride’s cousin of Dimmitt and Sarah Andrews and Rebecca Spraggins of Lubbock.
The bride is a 1996 graduate of Friona High School, a 1999 graduate of Texas Tech University and a 2002 graduate of South Plains College Nursing School. She is a registered nurse at University Medical Center in Lubbock.
The groom is a 1997 graduate of Paradise High School and a 2003 graduate of Texas Tech with a degree in architecture and business administration. He is employed at the University System Office of Audit Services.
Following a wedding trip to Lake Louis in Alberta, Canada, the couple will reside in Lubbock.

The prospective groom is a graduate of Southwest Texas State University and is employed at IBM in Westlake as an IT specialist. He is the grandson of Jo North of Decatur.

Bruce and Gail Northcutt of Alvord celebrated their thirtieth wedding anniversary Feb. 1, 2003, with their children and relatives.
Northcutt and the former Gail Willis were married Feb. 1, 1973, at the First Baptist Church in Alvord.
Bruce is a truck driver for Key Energy. Gail is office manager at North Texas Open MRI.
They have three children, Denece Watkins of Alvord, Teddy Northcutt and wife Dawn of Alvord and Kathie Northcutt and fiance Matt Stephens of Bowie. They have eight grandchildren.

The prospective groom is a graduate of Plains High School and the University of North Texas. He is a farmer near Plains. He is the grandson of Bobbie Partin of Plains and Alvin and Dorothy Largent of Bridgeport.

Carly Jean Henderson and Henry Wayne Patton, both of Arlington, were married Jan. 4, 2003, at Delaney Vineyards in Grapevine. Roy Faubion, pastor at The Father’s House in Decatur, and Paul Stein of Bridgeport officiated the double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Carl and Melva Henderson of Bridgeport. The groom is the son of Dale and Mary Denney of Bridgeport andWayne Patton of Sante Fe, N.M.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a gown of white silk slipper satin designed by Judd Waddell of New York City. The slim silhouette featured a strapless bodice, and the column skirt fell from the empire waist to slipper length. The backless gown was emphasized by a twist-draped bustle that fell gently into a sweeping train. The bride created her own slipper-length veil of bridal tulle accented by a violet crystal barrette at the chignon. She carried a bouquet of sterling and blue roses, freesia, lisianthus and delphinium in varied shades of lavender. During the reception, she removed her veil and wore a single purple lisianthus in her hair.
The matron of honor was Melva Henderson, mother of the bride. Bridesmaids were Casey Henderson and Kelley Henderson, sisters of the bride, and Jessica Patton, sister of the groom, all of Bridgeport. They wore slim silhouette gowns of black flocked brocade satin and carried bouquets matching the bride’s.
The best man was Jeremy Spence of Arlington, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Austin Lester of Denton, Kevin Doar of Arlington and Brian Vaughan of Dallas.
Colter Henderson of Bridgeport, brother of the bride, and Michael Madeley of Lubbock, cousin of the groom, were ushers. The guestbook attendant was Cassie Doar of Arlington.
The bride’s family hosted a reception following the ceremony in the Grand Ballroom, and the groom’s family hosted a rehearsal dinner for the wedding party at the couple’s favorite restaurant, Italianni’s in Bedford.
Following a snow boarding trip to Breckenridge, Colo. the couple resides in Arlington where they are both students at the University of Texas at Arlington. She is pursuing a degree in organizational communication and is a service manager for Wells Fargo in Arlington. The groom is also employed by Wells Fargo as a service manager in De Soto while pursuing a bachelor of business degree in finance.

The bride-elect graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in May with a degree in communication studies and a minor in human relations and business. She pledged Kappa Delta Sorority in 1999 and served as president from spring 2001 to fall 2002. She was also a member of Order of Omega Greek Honor Society and worked as an orientation adviser for three summers. She worked at the freshman admissions office as a student assistant until graduation.
The prospective groom graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in December 2002 with a degree in mechanical engineering. At UT, he was an officer in the Mechanical Engineering Honor Society Pi Tau Sigma where his office was corporate relations. He is a design engineer for Ford Motor Company.

Jackie and Janice Read of Boyd were to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, July 12, 2003, at the Boyd Community Center. The celebration was to be hosted by their children, Cindy Read of Arlington, Gwende Ruth and husband, Rick, of Boyd, and Jackie Read and wife, Delisa, of Santo. The Reads have three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Jackie and Janice were married July 13, 1953, in Boyd. They owned and operated Read & Bridges Retail Grocery until their retirement in 1976. Janice was a administrative secretary at Boyd School District for 10 years. Jackie is a Korean War veteran. The Reads operate a courier service.

The bride is the daughter of Mike and Deeann Wood of Decatur and Charles and Debra O’Shields of Perrin.
The groom is the son of Gerald and Janet Righton of the Commonwealth of Dominica.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore an A-line gown of white satin and lace inlaid with pearls and a fingertip-length veil with a pearl and rhinestone tiara. She carried a bouquet of two dozen white Virginia roses with long stems wrapped in satin ribbon, decorated with pearls and accented with holly leaves.
The maid of honor was Cameron Wood of Decatur, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Ashley Davidson of Decatur, Shelley Tefertiller of Alvord and Keely Gage of Decatur. The bride’s attendants wore dark blue satin, floor-length gowns and carried white roses trimmed with blue and white satin ribbons.
The flower girl was Clara O’Shields, daughter of the bride and groom. She wore a floor-length white dress and a rhinestone tiara. The ringbearer was Nate Longino, nephew of the bride.
The best man was Garvii Thomas of Denton. Groomsmen were Chris Christopher, Dale Nesty and Alvin Bruney, all of Denton. Ushers were Hunter Wood and Matthew O’Shields, both brothers of the bride.
Laura Groth was guest book attendant, and Bridgett O’Shields, sister of the bride, handed out rice bags. The Cornerstone Praise Team provided the music. Soloists were Aaron Tefertiller, Lana Boner and Larry Clark.

The groom, who is from Dominica, prepared a traditional island meal for the family members and the wedding party at the rehearsal.
He graduated from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls with a bachelor of science degree in both economics and political science. He is scheduled to graduate with a masters degree in economics in May 2003 from the University of North Texas in Denton. He is currently employed as a teaching fellow and research assistant in the economics department at UNT.
The bride is a 1998 Decatur High School graduate, and she is pursing an economics degree at UNT with an expected graduation date of August 2003. She is employed by UNT in the economics department.
Following a honeymoon at Caesar’s Pocono’s Resort in Pennsylvania, the couple will continue to live in Decatur.

Escorted by her father, the bride wore a strapless gown with a beaded, fitted bodice made of white satin and a ballroom skirt with multiple layers of tulle and white satin. The triple-layered tulle veil was elbow length with a jeweled tiara.
The bride carried a bouquet of callalilies, purple hydrangeas and yellow orchids.
The maid of honor was Lyndi Fennell of Decatur. Bridesmaid was Jennifer Spain of Decatur, cousin of the bride, and junior bridesmaid was Shelby Whitten of Houston, niece of the groom. The honor attendants wore two-piece purple satin dresses and carried three callalilies tied with a yellow ribbon.
The best man was Bart Mosley of Decatur, brother of the bride. Groomsman was Joe Merritt of Alvord, and junior groomsman was Kris Spain of Decatur, cousin of the bride. Ushers were Scott Mosley of Decatur, brother of the bride, Jeremy House of Decatur, David Kennedy of Houston, brother-in-law of the groom, and Geoff Landry of Shreveport, La.

Chuck “C.W.” Suter and the former Dollie Imogene Jackson were married Sept. 17, 1943, in Wichita Falls.
He is retired from Bell Helicopter. She is retired from Larch Westway.
He is also a retired Baptist pastor. The couple are members of Immanuel Baptist Church.
They have three daughters, Connie Jones of Newcastle and Glenda Perkins and Beverly Coffey of Decatur.
The couple also has nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Richard and Lois Williams celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary Jan. 4 with a surprise reception in the fellowship hall at Calvary Baptist Church in Decatur.
Williams and the former Lois Edwards were married Jan. 3, 1953, at the First United Methodist Church in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., by the Rev. Paul Hayden. They moved from New York to Montclair, Calif., in 1963 and to Decatur in 1980.
They have four children, Gerald Williams and his wife Janice of Montclair, Calif.; Gary Williams and wife Gail of Jerico Springs, Mo.; Gail Thomas and husband Robert of Clovis, N.M., and Becky Gamm and husband Jeff of Decatur.
The couple has nine grandchildren, Elaine Youngman and husband Matt of Maryland; Angela Williams of Kentucky ; Kimberly, Chelsea and Jimmy Thomas of New Mexico; Austin and Dakota Williams of Missouri and Ashley and Bradley Gamm of Decatur.
After Dick retired from Poco Graphite in June 1997 and Lois from the Decatur Public Library in 1998, the couple moved to their farm in Jerico Springs, where Dick raises cattle.

Leah Michelle Wood of Decatur, daughter of Kelli and George Weatherly of Chico and Craig Wood of Bridgeport, will marry Joey Levi Wilson of Decatur, son of Deanna and Ron Wilson of Chico, on June 7, 2003, at Crafton Baptist Church. Kenneth Wood will officiate.
A graduate of Chico High School, the bride-to-be attended Universal Technical Institute of Houston and is employed by Peterbilt in Denton.
The prospective groom is a Bridgeport High School graduate and works for Stevens Street Grill in Bridgeport.

Fiftieth wedding anniversary Jan. 19, 2003
Charles and Henry Jeanne Wolfe celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary March 7, 2003.
They are lifelong residents of Wise County, were married in Weatherford, and have lived in Boyd all their married life.
They have three children, Steve Wolfe, Jon Wolfe and Noelle Holmes; one grandson, Chris Wolfe and two great-grandsons, Lone and Dakota.
A reception will honor the couple on March 15, 2 to 5 p.m. at the Boyd Community Center. The couple requests no gifts.

Casey Page Felts of Lawton, Okla., daughter of Anthony K. Felts Sr. of Tucson, Ariz., and Deborah F. Sturtevant of Decatur, will marry Staff Sgt. Jorge Zelaya of Lawton, Okla., Feb. 15, 2003, at the Historical 1889 Chapel in Decatur.
The couple plan to reside in Lawton, Okla., where they are both stationed at Fort Sill in the U.S. Army.
