Adams - Rachel Loran Buchanan and Jody Clayton Adams
Marriage vows to be exchanged June 2, 2000
Rachel Loran Buchanan of Abilene and Joseph (Jody) Clayton Adams of Boyd have announced their plans to marry on June 2, 2000. Robert Isham will officiate the private ceremony.
The prospective bride is the daughter of Calvin and Virginia Buchanan of Decatur. She graduated from Decatur High School in 1996 and graduated magna cum laude from Abilene Christian University this month with a degree in nutrition. She is an assistant manager at Sears Methodist Retirement Center in Abilene.
The prospective groom is the son of Kelly and Ann Adams of Boyd. He graduated from Boyd High School in 1995 and is a candidate for graduation in December 2000 from Abilene Christian University with a degree in business administration.
Following a honeymoon cruise to the Caribbean, the couple will live in Abilene.

Arant - Alisha Kay Grant and Marcus Dewayne Arant
Marriage vows to be exchanged Dec. 16, 2000
Alisha Kay Grant of Decatur, daughter of Danny Grant of Decatur and Audrey Bates of Greenwood, will marry Marcus Dewayne Arant, son of Mark and Diane Arant of Rhome, on Dec. 16, 2000.
The ceremony will be at the Cuba Road Church in Bridgeport with the Rev. Joey Vick officiating.
The bride-elect will graduate from Decatur High School in January of 2001. She is employed at David’s Western Store in Decatur.
The prospective groom is a 1997 graduate of Haltom High School and is employed by Grainger Industrial Supply in Grand Prairie.

Ard - Veronica Lynn Wilderson and Clay Ard
Marriage vows to be exchanged July 1, 2000
Veronica Lynn Wilkerson of Dallas and Clay Ard of Mexia have announced plans to marry in Mexia July 1, 2000, at the Northcrest Church of Christ. Robin Wright will officiate.
The bride-elect, daughter of Robert and Anita Wilkerson of Wills Point, graduated from San Antonio College and is currently employed as a funeral director at Connally Compton Funeral Directors in Waco.
The prospective groom, son of Kenneth and Vicki Ard of Decatur, earned his bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University at Commerce in 1997. He is currently working as a teacher and coach at Mexia High School.

Arel - Amber Kristen Green and Steven Arel
Marriage vows to be exchanged Sept. 30, 2000
Amber Kristen Green of Denton, daughter of Kenneth and Cheryl Green of Decatur, and Steven Arel of Denton, son of Steve and Linda Arel of Sanger, will exchange vows on Sept. 30, 2000, at The Little Chapel in the Woods in Denton. Dr. Van W. Gardner of Grace Baptist Church will officiate.
The bride-elect is a 1996 graduate of Decatur High School and attends Texas Woman’s University.
She is majoring in dental hygiene.
The prospective groom is a 1994 graduate of Denton High School and attends North Central Texas
College. He is a self-employed contractor for Spence Corporation and DC&C Corporation.

Arel (2) - Mr. and Mrs. Steven Eugene Arel
Marriage vows exchanged Sept. 30, 2000
Amber Kristen Green of Denton, daughter of Ken and Cheryl Green of Decatur and Steven Eugene Arel of Denton, son of Steven and Linda Arel of Sanger were married Sept. 30, 2000, at the Little Chapel in the Woods at Texas Woman’s University in Denton.
Dr. Van W. Gardner of Grace Baptist Church in Decatur officiated the double ring ceremony.
The bride was escorted by her father. She wore a two-piece strapless satin dress accented with a beaded bodice. Her knee-length veil fell from a headband accented with pearls and jewels accented with a beaded comb.
She carried a bouquet of white Gerbera daisies, white roses, green hyacinth and baby’s breath accented with white satin ribbons.
Maid of honor was Christina Wendt, cousin of the bride, of Paradise.
Bridesmatrons were Marissa Stout, cousin of the bride, of Denton, Collete Ward of Denton and Rebecca Kiker of San Angelo. Bridesmaids were Dawn Proffer, cousin of the bride of Lake City, Fla. and Stephanie Arel, sister of the groom, of Sanger.
They wore empire-waist yellow boutique satin and chiffon floor-length dresses accented with matching scarfs and shoes.
The flower girls were Jordan Shetter, cousin of the bride and daughter of Christina Wendt and Justice Wendt, cousin of the bride and daughter of Gary and Venetia Sampson. They wore white sleeveless ankle-length dresses with angel wings and no shoes.
The candlelighter was Damien Kurrin, uncle of the bride, of Denton.
The ringbearer was Aaron Shetter, cousin of the bride and son of Christina Wendt of Paradise.
Best man was Jamey Ward of Denton. Groomsmen were Clint Maxwell, cousin of the groom and Zack Allen, both of Denton, Sonny Westerman of Lewisville and Dustin Smith and Brandon Meismer, both cousins of the groom, of Houston.
Ushers were Tim Wendt and Jeremy Cagle both cousins of the bride, of Decatur.
The guest book attendant was Tabitha Cagle, cousin of the bride, of Decatur.
Pianist was Ruthie Pierce. Soloists were Debbie Russell and Daniel Dickerson, both of Decatur.
Photographer was Wendy Kurrin, aunt of the bride, of Denton. Videographer was Rodney Fetterolf, uncle of the bride, of Decatur.
A reception was held at the Visual Arts Center in Denton. Servers were Deborah Fetterolf and Laurie Grimes, both aunts of the bride, of Decatur.
The rehearsal dinner was given by the groom’s parents at the Texican Grill in Denton.
Following a wedding trip to St. Croix in the Virgin Islands, the couple will live in Denton.
The bride graduated high school in 1996 and is studying to be a dental hygienist at Texas Woman’s University.
The groom is a 1995 graduate of Denton Ryan High School and is attending North Central Texas College.

Atkins – Billy and Betty Atkins
Fiftieth wedding anniversary Jan. 1, 2001
Billy and Betty Atkins of Decatur will celebrate their fiftieth wedding anniversary with a reception hosted by their children at the Decatur Church of Christ on Jan. 7, 2001, from 2 to 4 p.m.
Atkins and the former Betty Burkett were married Jan. 1, 1951, in Clayton, N.M.
Billy is retired from Bell Helicopter and Betty is a homemaker.
They have two children, Terry Atkins of Decatur and Cindy Wolverton of Fort Worth. They also have two grandchildren.

Austin - Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Jerrel Austin
Marriage vows exchanged Feb. 26, 2000
Tracey Elizabeth White of Decatur and Stanley Jerrel Austin of Muenster were wed in a double-ring ceremony at The Father’s House in Decatur on Feb. 26, 2000.
The Rev. Jerry Miller officiated.
The bride is the daughter of John and Paula White of Decatur and the groom is the son of Ronnie and Jessica Austin of Ringling, Okla.
The bride was escorted by her father. She wore a white satin tank sheath dress with an organza train with lace appliques. She carried blush pink roses with white silk.
The matron of honor was Shawna Stastny, sister of the bride, of Slidell.
Bridesmatron was Kimberli Pruett, cousin of the bride, of Catarina.
Bridesmaids were Sunnie Austin, sister of the groom, of Stillwater, Okla.; Nina Tackett of Decatur; and Janey Adams of Sunset.
The bridal party wore sage colored sleeveless A-line dresses with draped backs and each carried one blush pink rose.
The flower girl was Kate Lynn Kimbrough, daughter of Cale and Misty Kimbrough, cousin of the bride, of Edgewood.
Candlelighters were Rayne Austin, Barret Austin and Brittany Tackett.
The ringbearers were the bride’s nephews, Jarrett and Jake Stastny, sons of Shawna and Danford Stastny.
The best man was Scotty Austin, brother of the groom, of Marietta, Okla.
The groomsmen were Kenneth Casbeier, Michael McDonald, Curt Bayer and Dustin Allen. Ushers were Cale Kimbrough and Corey Kimbrough, cousins of the bride, of Edgewood.
The guestbook attendant was Nikki Ross of Decatur.
The pianist was Margaret Atkinson of Decatur and the soloists were Shawna Stastny, Bill Hutchison and Joy Roberts.
The reception was held at the National Guard Armory in Decatur and was given by Anita Ross with Blessings, Weddings, Etc.
The couple took a cruise to Catalina Island off the California coast and Ensenada, Mexico.
They reside in Muenster.
The groom owns Muenster Livestock Commission.

Baskin - Tracy Elaine Phillips and Wade Thomas Baskin
Marriage vows to be exchanged Oct. 17, 2000
Tracy Elaine Phillips of Dallas, daughter of Brenda Phillips of Bridgeport and C.D. Phillips of Port Neches will marry Wade Thomas Baskin of Dallas, son of Charles and Janis Baskin of Martins Mill.
The wedding will be Oct. 17, 2000, at a surprise location outside of the United States selected by the prospective groom. The couple will be honored with a reception upon their return at the home of Ocie and Cindy Vest.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Billie Doris, Charlie Ishmael Ford and Bunnia Phillips, all of Bridgeport. She is a graduate of Bridgeport High School and Tarleton State University. She received a bachelor of business administration in management and a bachelor of arts in Spanish. She is employed by Affiliated Computer Services as a computer programmer.
The prospective groom is a graduate of Martins Mills High School and a nursing graduate of North Central Texas College. He is employed as a registered nurse in the emergency department of Parkland Memorial Hospital.

Bates - Mr. and Mrs. Richard Allen Bates
Marriage vows exchanged Sept. 2, 2000
Cortny Christine Johnson and Richard Allen Bates were united in marriage in Anderson Township, Ohio on Sept. 2, 2000. The Rev. Allen Bates, the groom’s father, officiated the outdoor ceremony at sunset under a white arbor covered in vines and cascading lavender flowers.
The bride is the daughter of Bill and Tami Stepp of Anderson Township, and Ric and Stephanie Johnson of Washington Court House, Ohio. She is the granddaughter of Carol and Bill Mathison of Seattle, Wash. and Jackie Johnson of Washington Court House.
The groom is a 1994 graduate of Decatur High School. He is the son of Rev. Allen and Velda Bates of Decatur. He is the grandson of Odous and Inez Adams of Bowie and George and Cleota Bates of Decatur. He is the great grandson of Goldie Hatfield of Henrietta.
The bride was escorted by her father and step-father and carried a bouquet of white and lavender miniature Calla Lilies. She wore a white sleeveless full length gown of silk satin organza. The gown’s v-neckline and empire waist bodice were embellished with pear beading.
The Matron of Honor was Rachel Wilson of Clarksville, Ohio. Bridesmaid was Heather Chandler of Wichita Falls. They wore lavender dresses and carried bouquets of lavender and white flowers.
The best man was Chris Bates, the groom’s brother, of North Richland Hills. The groomsman was Michael Phelps of Decatur.
Music was played by Katie Stepp, sister of the bride and special music included a love song written and sung by the groom.
The reception took place by a swimming pool filled with floating candles. The reception area was decorated with pots of lavender mums and the trees and shrubbery were lit with tiny white lights.
Other special guests of the groom attending the wedding were Jessica Bates, the groom’s sister and friends Kelly Denti and Jay Sappington.
After the couple return from their honeymoon trip to Cancun, Mexico, the groom’s parents will host a local reception for them at Victory Family Church in Decatur. The couple will reside in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Beaman - Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gregory Beaman
Marriage vows exchanged June 1, 2000
Penny Lynn Homan and Robert Gregory Beaman exchanged marriage vows on June 1, 2000, at the Special Memory Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas, Nev. A dinner reception, hosted by Warren and Martha Beaman, the groom’s parents, followed at the Stratosphere tower.
The bride wore a gown of white silk duchese satin and cotton gabardine. Accenting her gown was a beaded headpiece of silk and pearls, with pearls scattered throughout the veil.
The bride is a graduate of Cleburne High School.
The groom is a graduate of Marietta High School in Marietta, Okla. High School and is the owner of R.B. Homes and Ace Communications in Bridgeport.
Following a wedding trip, the couple reside in Bridgeport.

Berend - Courtney Cole and Heath Berend
Marriage vows to be exchanged Aug. 19, 2000
Courtney Cole, daughter of Clyde and Gaye Cole of Greenwood, will marry Heath Berend, son of Morris and Jo Berend of Decatur, on Aug. 19, 2000, at the Oak Grove Pavilion.
The bride-elect is a 1999 graduate of Slidell High School and attends North Central Texas College in Gainesville.
The prospective groom is a 1996 graduate of Decatur High School and earned a welding certificate from Weatherford College. He is employed by the City of Decatur.

Berend (2) - Courtney Cole and Heath Berend
Marriage vows exchanged Aug. 19, 2000
Heath Berend, son of Jo and Morris Berend of Decatur and Courtney Cole, daughter of Clyde and Gaye Cole of Greenwood exchanged double ring wedding vows Aug. 19, 2000, at the Oak Grove Methodist Pavilion.
Don Griffith, pastor of the Church of Christ in Greenwood officiated the ceremony.
Grandparents of the bride are Willie and Jessie Cole and Rosa and Gaylen Wilson, all of Greenwood and Sue Wilson of Decatur. Great-grandmothers of the bride are Elsie Wilson of Big Sandy and Betty Thompson of Decatur.
Grandmother of the groom is Elouise Berend of Pilot Point.
The bride was escorted by her father and wore a floor-length sleeveless dress with an empire waist, sheer bodice and embroidered flowers.
The matron of honor was Shannon Meyer of Slidell, the bride’s cousin. Bridesmaids were Jessica Dorsey and Camille Franklin, both of Denton. They wore floor-length sleeveless navy blue dresses with white trim and an empire waist.
The best man was Chase Lasater of Decatur. Groomsmen were Shane Allison of Decatur and Bodie Cole of Greenwood, brother of the bride. They wore long-sleeved white shirts with blue wranglers.
Flower girls were Kendal Stephens and Katy Stephens, both of Greenwood. They wore floor-length light blue dress with white flowers and white trim.
Ring bearers were Hunter Malone of Greenwood, Tanner Warren of Decatur and Calder Lightfoot of Moody.
Ushers were Chance Wilson, Jack Sandford and Colter Boynton, all of Greenwood.
Music was provided by Whitney Warren of Decatur and Eric Hillary of Greenwood.
The bride’s cake was a three-tier heart cake decorated with fresh flowers. The groom’s cake was a two-layer boot-shaped chocolate cake accented with strawberries.

Biera - Laurie Allison and Steven Biera
Marriage vows to be exchanged July 15, 2000
Laurie Allison of San Antonio, daughter of Mike and Patti Allison of Roscoe, formerly of Chico, will marry Steven Biera of Arlington, son of Juan and Elvira Biera of Merkel, on July 15, 2000.
The wedding will be at the Merkel Church of Christ.
The bride-elect is a 1993 graduate of Callisburg High School and a 1998 graduate of Abilene Christian University. She will graduate from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio with a masters degree in Communication Disorders in May, 2000.
The prospective groom is a 1990 graduate of Merkel High School and a 1996 graduate of Abilene Christian University. He is employed at Dallas Winston in Dallas.

Lindsay Michelle Hunt, daughter of Kenneth and Lillie Hunt of Decatur will marry Michael Lynn Bond, son of Howard and Barbara Bond of Wake Village, on Dec. 16, 2000.
Dr. Rusty Hedges will officiate the ceremony at the First United Methodist Church in Decatur.
The bride-elect is a 1994 graduate of Decatur High School and a 1998 graduate of Texas A&M University. She is attending the University of Houston College of Optometry.
The prospective groom is a 1996 graduate of Southern Arkansas University and a 2000 graduate of the University of Houston College of Optometry. He is working in Dallas.

Lindsey Dawn May, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bill May of Boyd, will marry Michael Brandon Boone of Slidell, son of Ginger Boone of Slidell and Steve and Polly Boone of Gainesville, on Dec. 2, 2000.
The ceremony will be at the Methodist Church in Boyd followed by a reception at the Boyd Community Center.
The bride-elect is a 2000 graduate of Boyd High School and is attending Tarrant County College in Fort Worth.
The prospective groom is a 1998 graduate of Slidell High School and is attending Tarrant County College of Fort Worth. He is employed at the city of Colleyville as a firefighter.

Crystal Leigh Trail and Kelly Harold Boswell, both of Bridgeport, were married in a double-ring ceremony on April 15, 2000, at the Pleasant View Baptist Church in Bridgeport.
The bride is the daughter of Vernon and Laurie Marshall of Runaway Bay. She is a 1999 graduate of Bridgeport High School and is employed by the First National Bank of Runaway Bay.
The groom is the son of Jim and Kathy Boswell of Bridgeport. He is a 1997 graduate of Bridgeport High School and is self-employed.
They will reside in Bridgeport.

Branch - Sandra Marie Krall and Kenneth Neal Branch
Marriage vows to be exchanged Oct. 28, 2000
Sandra Marie Krall of Decatur, daughter of Brad and Margaret Krall of Bedford will marry Kenneth Neal Branch of Boyd, son of Douglas and Yvonne Branch of Irving, on Oct. 28, 2000.
The Rev. Gonzo Morales will officiate the ceremony at the Assumption Catholic Church in Decatur.
The bride-elect graduated from Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine and is employed as a veterinarian at the Wise County Animal Clinic.
The prospective groom graduated from Lincoln Technical Institute and is employed by Ryder Transportation in Fort Worth.

Brummell - Gene and Rowena Brummell
60th wedding anniversary March 16, 2000
Gene and Rowena Brummell of Decatur celebrated their sixtieth wedding anniversary with a reception on March 16, 2000, at The Club at Runaway Bay where they reminisced about the early years of their marriage by reading letters exchanged while Brummell was in the Navy during World War II.
Hosts were their children, Scott and Nancy Boyd and Jan Brummell, all of Decatur and Jimmy Brummell of Houston and their grandchildren.
The couple has four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Brummell and the former Rowena Moore were married March 16, 1940, at the home of the bride’s parents’, N.A. and Mary Cates Moore.
He is a retired vice president of the First National Bank of Decatur, now the First National Bank of Texas and she is the retired secretary for the First United Methodist Church in Decatur.
Memberships have included the Rotary Club, Chamber of Commerce, Wise County Reunion Committee and the Decatur Fire Department.
She is a member of the Decatur Woman’s Club.
They are both members of the First United Methodist Church in Decatur.

Bullock – Kristal Beth Nichols and Justin Daniel Bullock
Marriage vows to be exchanged Feb. 5, 2000
Kristal Beth Nichols of Weatherford, formerly of Decatur, daughter of Bob and Alma Nichols of Alpine, will marry Justin Daniel Bullock, son of Robert and Vickie Bullock of Weatherford on Feb. 5, 2000.
Paul Cavanau will officiate the ceremony at Center Point Baptist Church in Weatherford.
The bride-elect is a 1999 graduate of Decatur High School, attended Angelo State University and is now attending Weatherford College.
The prospective groom is a 1996 graduate of North Texas Christian Academy and is employed by M&M Metal Manufacturing in Fort Worth.

Butler - Amanda Gay Brawley and Cole Wayne Butler
Marriage vows exchanged Oct. 7, 2000
Amanda Gay Brawley, daughter of Connie Brawley of Decatur, and Cole Wayne Butler, son of Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Butler of Red Oak, were married Oct. 7, 2000, at the home of Peggy Burton of Decatur, grandmother of the bride. The Rev. Wayne England of the Red Oak Church of Christ officiated the double-ring ceremony.
The bride was escorted by her brother, Josh Brawley. She wore a white marble-satin sleeveless dress with an empire waist accented with beads and pearls and a sweep train. She wore a beaded tiara with a waist-length veil.
She carried a bouquet of yellow roses and miniature eggplant calla lillies.
The maid of honor was Karlee Butler, sister of the groom, of Red Oak. She wore a eggplant-colored dress and carried a bouquet of yellow roses and eggplant daisies.
Candlelighter was Ben Sandford of Greenwood, cousin of the bride.
Best man was Josh Ussery of Red Oak.
Organist was Annette Riley of Decatur, great aunt of the bride.
A reception followed the ceremony.
Servers were Shannon and Sarah Sandford of Greenwood, cousins of the bride.
The couple will live in Lewisville.
The bride is a 2000 graduate of Decatur High School.
The groom is a 1998 graduate of Red Oak High School and attended the University of North Texas. He is employed at TXU in Farmers Branch.

Caldwell - Mr. and Mrs. James Caldwell
50th wedding anniversary May 26, 2000
June and James Caldwell of Chico will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary at 2 p.m., May 20, at the First Baptist Church of Chico. The celebration will be hosted by their children and grandchildren.
June King and James Caldwell were married in Fort Worth May 26, 1950. They have three children, Larry and Debbie Caldwell of Sanger, Helen and J.T. Capps and Glynn Caldwell, all of Chico; and six grandchildren. Both are members of the First Baptist Church of Chico and retired employees of GTE Telephone Company.

LaVonne Marie Reynolds of Decatur, daughter of Bill and Patti Reynolds of Boyd, will marry Mark Calvert, son of Charles and Peggy Calvert of Decatur, on March 18 at The Club at Runaway Bay.
The bride-elect is a 1990 graduate of Boyd High School and is employed at GTE Communications and is a member of the Decatur Volunteer Fire Department.
The prospective groom is a 1983 graduate of Decatur High School and is employed at Calvert Electric Inc.

Kristi Kay Martin of Bridgeport and Bradley Simon Cannon of Alvord were married May 27, 2000, in a double ring ceremony by Justice of the Peace Mark Autry at his office in Boyd.
The bride was escorted by her son, Brett Martin.
The bride is the daughter of Debra and David Allen of Bridgeport and the groom is the son of Joy and Herb Cannon of Alvord.
The bride wore a white, satin, floor-length dress. She carried a bouquet of white daisies.
Maid of honor was Erika Noble of Bridgeport.
She wore a pastel yellow satin, floor-length dress and carried white and yellow daisies.
Flower girl was Haley Meekins, daughter of Traci and Donald Meekins of Bridgeport. Ringbearer was Colton Strachan, of Bridgeport.
Best man was Chad Albert Patterson of Alvord. Ushers were Justin Daberkow, and Blake Jackson, both of Bridgeport.
A reception was given by Pat Younger and the employees of the Wise County Tax Office. Servers were Traci Meekins, Sue Johnson and Carolyn Brooks, all of Bridgeport.
The couple took a wedding trip to Eureka Springs, Ark. They are living in Bowie.
The bride is a 1995 graduate of Bridgeport High School. She is employed by the Wise County Tax Office.
The groom is a 1994 graduate of Alvord High School. He is employed by Max Tel Communications.

Amy Lou Porter, daughter of Meldee and LuAnn Porter of Smoot, Wyo. will marry Scott Matthew Cannon, son of Jack and Claudia Cannon of Decatur, on Sept. 28, 2000, in the Bountiful Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Bountiful, Utah.
The bride-elect is a 1999 graduate of Star Valley High School in Afton, Wyo. and is attending the L.D.S. Business College. She is an accounting clerk at Belsen Getty in Salt Lake.
The prospective groom is a 1997 graduate of Decatur High School and will be attending Salt Lake Community College. He is working in construction in the Salt Lake City area, where the couple plans to live.

Ashley Marianne Caughran, daughter of Pat and Susan Cunningham of Kemah and Bill Caughran of Dallas and Emmett Eugene Capt IV, son of Emmett III and Stephanie Capt of Kilgore, plan to exchange marriage vows in October 2000 in Nacogdoches.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a satin Mon Cheri gown with a fitted bodice and cathedral train. The sleeveless bodice featured a scooped neckline accented with beads and pearls. She also wore a beaded tiara with an illusion veil edged in satin.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a formal gown of oyster colored brocade and matte satin. The tank top style bodice of brocade had a dropped bisque waist. The formal skirt was organza over matte satin. The box pleated skirt flowed into a cathedral length train. She wore a headpiece of pearls and seed beads with an imported illusion, cathedral length veil. She carried a round bouquet of millennium and spray roses with handkerchiefs that had belonged to her maternal grandmother and great-grandmother.
Kim Spriggs of Plano was maid of honor. Bridesmatrons were Kelly Fryar, the bride’s cousin of Marble Falls; Mary Cinquemani of Euless and Evelyn Knotts of Dallas. Bridesmaid was Colette McCarty of Lewisville. They wore short sleeve velvet and satin floor length, hunter green gowns. They carried round bouquets of millennium and spray roses.
Gary Herrod of Montgomery was best man. Groomsmen were Martin “Marty” McGrath of Dallas; Michael “Mick” McGrath of Addison; Scott Strange of Flower Mound and Rob Poynor of Garland. Ushers were Don Bentley of Denton and Matthew “Matt” McGrath of Addison. The groomsmen and ushers wore kilts.

Lesa Davis was her sister’s matron of honor. Jason Davis was his brother’s best man.

Brittney Dawn Largent and Thomas Randolph Euler, both of Paradise, were married in a double ring ceremony on March 18, 2000, at the First Baptist Church in Paradise. The Rev. Joe Motsenbocker officiated the candlelight service.
The bride, daughter of Clarence and Carolyn Largent of Paradise, was escorted by her father. She wore a sleeveless white gown with a heart-shaped neckline that formed a ‘V’ at her waist. The back of the dress laced corset style, and the skirt was styled in five layers, adorned with daisies and pearls. She carried a bouquet of white roses with miniature lavender rosebuds and baby’s breath.
Keitha Farrow of Paradise was the maid of honor. The bridesmaids were Amanda Noah of Paradise and Michelle Gibson of Denton. The bridesmaids wore floor-length, lavender dresses with puff sleeves, empire waists and scoop necklines. The dresses flowed to floor-length trains made of sheer lavender that matched the sheer material trim at the necklines. The trains were attached with lavender and yellow daisies. They each carried a candle inside a bouquet of lavender rosebuds, daisies and baby’s breath. The flower girl was Mariah Matula of Washington, sister of the groom. Her dress was a white, floor-length gown that matched the bride’s gown.
The groom is the son of Brenda Matula of Seattle, Wash. and Pete Euler, also of Washington. The best man was Nick Richey of Paradise, cousin of the bride.
The groomsmen were Chad Largent, brother of the bride, and Jacoby Gentry, cousin of the bride. The ushers and candlelighters were Caleb Watkins and Bubba Richey, cousins of the bride. The ring bearer was Tristan Farrow of Paradise, nephew of the bride.
Pianist was Chad Largent, brother of the bride. Soloist was Amanda Noah.
The reception was held at a recreation center in Bridgeport. Servers were Chrissi Richey, Amber Watkins and Afton Hughes, cousins of the bride of Paradise. The couple took a wedding trip to Seattle.
The bride is a senior at Paradise High School and is employed at James Wood Motors. The groom is a graduate of Paradise High School and attends Southeastern University in Oklahoma. He is also an active member in the Oklahoma Army National Guard.

It was attached to a headpiece that was covered with large, white, satin rosettes and pearls.
She carried a bouquet of spray roses and purple satin with a small lily, several alstromeria heather and baby’s breath.
The maid of honor was Kathryn McGaughey, a college roommate of the bride, of Deer Park. The bridesmaid was Julee Harris, a cousin, of Arlington.
They wore sleeveless, floor-length, plum-colored, A-line gowns with princess seams and empire waists. They had open, elongated triangle backs with bows and buttons down the back and below the waist.

A symphony full-length veil was adorned with white roses, sequins and beaded pearls.
She carried a cascading bouquet of burgundy and pale yellow roses intertwined with pale yellow lilies with ivy as greenery.

The bride-elect is a 1996 graduate of Decatur High School and a May 2000 graduate of the University of Texas at Arlington. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology and business.
The prospective groom is a 1994 graduate of Round Rock High School and a December 1999 graduate of the University of Texas at Arlington, where he was on full scholarship for the UTA golf team.
He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications.
He is employed by Sunset Direct in Austin.

In a double ring candlelight ceremony the afternoon of July 29, 2000, at Fielder Road Baptist Church in Arlington, Stephanie Dyann Summers of Decatur became the bride of Jason Thomas Hughes of Round Rock.
Parents of the couple are Steve and Stuart Summers of Decatur and Mr. and Mrs. Don Hughes of Round Rock. Grandparents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Haney of Baytown and Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Summers of Paris. The groom is the grandson of Carroll and the late Blanche Hughes of Wickett and Roy and the late Nell Bingman of Torrance, Calif.
The Rev. Gary Smith of Fielder Road Baptist Church officiated.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white satin, A-line sleeveless gown. A band of pearls outlined the rounded neckline and scooped back. A double row of pearls extended from the back of the dress to the end of the train. The elbow length veil was enhanced with pearl and rhinestone studs. The bride wore a blusher. She carried a spring bouquet of light blue bella donna, grace freesia, white spray roses and light pink peonies, accented with white sweet pea. The bouquet was wrapped in silk with french knots and pearl studs.
Susan Summers of Decatur was her sister’s maid of honor. Bridesmatrons were Callie Branch of Normal, Ill., Kara Chisum of Decatur and Amy Wilson, sister of the groom, of Coppell. Bridesmaids were Crystil Trotter of Paradise and Kimberlee Johnston of Los Angeles, Calif. They wore ice blue satin dresses with a fitted bodice and A-line skirt. They carried blue aggie, light blue bella donna, grace freesia, white spray roses and light pink peonies, tied with a white illusion bow.
Jenny Rebecca McClellan, cousin of the bride and daughter of Greg and Laura McClellan of Baytown, was flower girl. Ringbearer was Herb Butcher, cousin of the bride and son of Rick and Rhonda Butcher of Pflugerville.
Trey Longbotham of Dallas was best man. Groomsmen were Justin Wilson, Chris Stuckey and Buck Giebelhaus, all of Round Rock; Casey Burns of Austin and Stephen Summers, brother of the bride of Denton. Ushers were Dustin Haney and Wesley Haney, cousins of the bride of Pasadena; Mark Ashworth of Las Vegas, Nev. and Deron Zinnecker of Round Rock.
Sara Haney of Pasadena and Amanda Butcher of Pflugerville attended the guest book. Music was provided by organist Richard Ponder of Grand Prairie and soloists Susan Summers and Mike Vaughn of Decatur.
The bride’s parents hosted a reception at The Petroleum Club in Fort Worth following the ceremony, where pianist Brad Logan provided music.
Following a wedding trip to Negril, Jamaica, the couple is living in Austin. The bride is a 1996 graduate of Decatur High School and a 2000 graduate of the University of Texas at Arlington. A 1994 graduate of Round Rock High School, the groom is a 1999 graduate of UTA. He is employed in sales and marketing with Sunset Direct.

The Rev. Norman Abernathy officiated and the bride was escorted by her father.
She wore a long ivory dress with lace and beads. Her headpiece included baby’s breath in her hair. Her flowers were pink and yellow roses with silver and blue accents.
The maid of honor was Tiffany Vargus, cousin of the bride, of Boyd. Bridesmatrons were Elizabeth Hines and Angel Tacket, cousins of the bride of Boyd. The bridesmaid was Heather McCormick, cousin of the bride, of Boyd.

Maid of honor was Stormy Slider of Arlington. Bridesmaids were Tara Jae Gomas and Ashton McGregor of Boyd. They wore long purple, backless dresses. The maid of honor carried three roses and the bridesmaids each carried a single rose.

Jackie Elizabeth Long of Springtown, daughter of Albert and Jackie Long of Paradise, and Olen Ray Jackson, Jr. of Springtown, son of Olen and Betty Jackson of Boyd and Janie Shaw of Houston, were married in a double ring ceremony at the First Baptist Church of Cottondale on March 25, 2000. The Rev. Gary Barnett officiated and the bride was escorted by her father.
She wore a long, full, off-the-shoulder dress with a sweetheart neckline and a bow in the back that was embedded with sequins and pearls. The white lace veil was covered in pearls.
She carried a bouquet of off-white roses and baby’s breath. The bouquet also had greenery, pearls and multi-colored pastel ribbons throughout.
The maid of honor was Sherrea Cox of Boyd. Bridesmatrons were Danielle Bowen, of Boyd; Theresa Long, sister-in-law of the bride, of Paradise; and Kayli Jackson, sister-in-law of the bride, of Irving. Bridesmaids were Courtney Hughes of Alvord and Tammy Pugh of Bridgeport.
Each wore a different pastel colored dress including pink, lavender, peach, green, yellow and blue. They also carried one single rose each with multi-pastel ribbons attached.
The flower girl was Amber Bowen, daughter of Chuck and Danielle Bowen of Boyd and goddaughter of the bride and groom. Candlelighters and ushers were brothers of the bride, Joseph Long of Paradise and Adam Long of West Point, N.Y.
Ringbearer was Pete Welcome, son of Jennifer Welcome of Fort Worth and cousin of the bride.
The best man was Chuck Bowen of Fort Worth. Groomsmen included Olen Jackson, Sr., father of the groom, of Boyd; Jason Jackson, brother of the groom, of Irving; Audie Downey, brother of the groom, of Boyd; Corey Jackson, brother of the groom, of Boyd; and Kris Lunsford of Boyd.

The bride is the daughter of Paul and Kieron Diffenderfer of Bridgeport and David Shannon of Paradise. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Janese of Lake Charles, La. and Mr. and Mrs. Rick Simmons of Winnie.
Given in marriage by her father, Paul Diffenderfer, the bride wore an ivory baroque satin Victorian styled gown with pleated skirt and attached train. The gown featured a lace overlay bodice and sheer lace, three-quarter length sleeves. Pearls lined the neckline and hem of the full length gown. Her tulle veil was trimmed in ivory satin ribbon. The gown was designed and created by the bride’s mother.
The bride wore her grandmother’s diamond choker and carried a handkerchief belonging to the groom’s grandmother. She carried a colonial style bouquet in a mixture of Virginia and bridal white roses, mini carnations and monte casino, surrounded by ivory tulle.
Misty Sutton and Amanda Toby of Wichita Falls were maids of honor. Bridesmaids were Kassi Richey of Bridgeport, Agniesxka Beavers of Denton and Nicole Janese, sister-in-law of the groom of Lake Charles. They wore purple floor length gowns with empire waists accented with purple satin bows and three-quarter length sleeves.
Brie Martin, niece of the bride and daughter of Mark and Carol Martin of Bridgeport, was flower girl. Cody Heckaman and Ryan Hemingway, both of Beaumont, lighted candles. The bridal couple and their mothers lighted a unity candle.
Austin Broussard, son of B.J. and Tracie Broussard of Beaumont and nephew of the groom, was ringbearer.
Adam Janese of Lake Charles was his brother’s best man. Groomsmen were Doug Mueller and Jake Peltier, both of Winnie; B.J. Broussard, brother-in-law of the groom, and Cody Heckaman, both of Beaumont. Ushers were Shea Martin of Bridgeport, the bride’s cousin; Robbie Martin of Hampshire and Lance Foster and Cody Heckaman, both of Beaumont.
Heather Graham of Lubbock and Rasena Seagraves of Lubbock registered guests. Music was provided by Carmelina Holloway, harpist and Jerry Coffman of Boyd and Amanda Tody of Wichita Falls, soloists.
A reception followed the ceremony at the Bridgeport Lion’s Hall. Servers included Leah Mapes of Jacksboro, Stephanie Murphy of Waco and Jennifer Murphy of College Station.
Following a trip to Phoenix, Ariz., the couple is living in Glendale, Ariz. The bride is a 1996 graduate of Bridgeport High School and a 2000 graduate of Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls where she earned a B.S. degree in education.

The bride was escorted by her father.
She wore a candlelight, crepe, A-line gown with lace and illusion overlay on sleeveless bodice. The gown was accented by a chapel length train. She carried a hand tied bouquet of orange and yellow roses, purple statice and baby’s breath.
Matron of honor was Kim Dowdy of Rhome. Bridesmatron was Cindy McCullough of Tioga. They wore sleeveless, A-line dresses with scoop necks, accented with bows at the waist. They carried hand tied bouquets of yellow roses and statice.
Best man was Ronald Blum of Van Alstyne. Groomsman was Stephen Dillard of Tom Bean.
Flower girl was Riley Lindsey, niece of the bride and daughter of Robert Lindsey of Rhome. Ringbearer was Nolan Pike, nephew of the groom and son of Tim and Wendy Pike of Howe. Ushers were Clay Clark and Tim Pike, brothers-in-law of the groom of Howe, Robert Lindsey, brother of the bride of Rhome, David Hardy of Perrin and David Chumbley of Howe.
Guest book attendants were Ashlee and Katie Pike of Howe. Pianist was Annette Riley of Decatur and soloist was Jerry Harper of Paradise.
A reception, given by the bride’s parents, followed in the church fellowship hall. Servers were Christy Clark and Wendy Pike, sisters of the groom of Howe, Susan Bhrlik of Sherman, Tracy Blum of Van Alstyne and Julie Dillard of Tom Bean.
The bride is a 1991 graduate of Northwest High School and a 1995 graduate of Tarleton State University with a B.S. degree. She earned an M.S. from Tarleton in 1997. She is employed by Decatur ISD as a vocational agriculture teacher. The groom is a 1986 graduate of Howe High School and a 1990 graduate of Texas A&M University. He is employed by Howe ISD as an ag teacher.
Following a wedding trip to Ruidoso, N.M., the couple live in Howe.

Alicia Dian Stephens of Irving, daughter of Don and Annette Stephens of Irving and the granddaughter of Sid and Ellie McNeely Stephens of Sycamore, and Brian Joseph Carl Loran of Dallas, son of David and Carlene Loran of Katy, will exchange marriage vows on July 8, 2000, at the First United Methodist Church in Irving. The bride-elect is a graduate of Texas A&M University and is a 5th grade teacher at F.M. Gilbert Elementary School in Irving.
The prospective groom is a graduate of Texas A&M University and is pursuing a master's degree at The University of Texas at Arlington. He is employed as an electrical engineer at Tri-Quint Semi Conductor in Dallas.

Alicia Dian Stephens, daughter of Don and Annette Stephens of Irving and the granddaughter of Sid and Ellie McNeely Stephens of Sycamore, and Brian Joseph Carl Loran of Dallas, son of David and Carlene Loran of Katy, exchanged marriage vows in a double ring ceremony, July 8, 2000, at the First United Methodist Church in Irving.
Dr. Dan Hoke of Plymouth Park United Methodist Church officiated.
The bride was escorted by her father.
She wore a sleeveless, princess-style gown by designer Ian Stuart. The floorlength gown was fashioned in matte satin and Japanese organza and trimmed with silk satin ribbon. The fitted bodice featured a round neckline that plunged to a V-neck in the back and was adorned with silk satin ribbons and delicate satin-covered buttons. Pearl and satin rosettes embellished two ribbon butterfly bows, and ribbon streamers graced the semi-cathedral train. A multi-tiered fingertip veil of nylon, trimmed in satin ribbon, cascaded from a satin ribbon headpiece.
Matron of honor was Penni James of Irving. Maid of honor was Ann Abraham of Irving. They wore short, black crepe, princess-style dresses and carried bouquets of three hand-tied calla lilies.
Flower girl was Lacy Welsh, daughter of Steve and Marsha Welsh of Mesquite. Readers were Jan Hahn, the bride’s aunt and Matt Stephens, the bride’s brother, both of Irving. Ringbearer was Zack Ghormley, son of Ken and Sheri Ghormley and second cousin of the bride of Forney.
Best man was Dr. David Loran, the groom’s brother of Galveston. Groomsman was Brian Temple of Houston. Ushers were James Nelson and Matt Stephens, the bride’s brother, both of Irving.
Guest book attendant was Meaghan Ghormley of Forney. Organist was Sondra Robertson and soloist was Diana Soto, both of Irving.
A reception, given by the bride’s parents, followed at the Harvey Hotel at DFW.

Mirenda Jo Tipton, daughter of Robert and Sharon Tipton of Paradise will marry Gregory Preston Lowery, son of Loyce Lowery and Preston Lowery of Paradise, on Sept. 16, 2000.

The bride-elect graduated from Paradise High School and is attending Texas Woman’s University in Denton majoring in special education and minoring in English. She plans to graduate in the fall of 2001.
The prospective groom is a graduate of Paradise High School, Austin College in Sherman and Baylor Law School. He has been a practicing attorney in Wise County since 1994.

Marriage vows exchanged Sept. 16, 2000
Mirenda Jo Tipton, daughter of Robert and Sharon Tipton of Paradise, and Gregory Preston Lowery, son of Preston Lowery and Loyce Lowery of Paradise, were united in marriage with a double-ring ceremony Sept. 16, 2000.
Rev. Joe Motsenbocker officiated the ceremony at the First Baptist Church in Paradise.
The bride was escorted by her father, Robert Tipton.
She wore a long A-line candlelight dress with a sweetheart neckline.
The bodice was adorned with beading.
Her headpiece, which was custom made by Gladys Pewitt, featured a cathedral length train with satin trim detailed with sequines at the end.
She carried a bouquet of fresh pink and white lilies with a cascade of roses.
Matron of honor was Rebecca Kiker of Paradise.
Bridesmatron was Amy Lowery, sister-in-law of the groom of Decatur.
Bridesmaids were Katie Turpin, the bride’s cousin of Argyle and Amy Langely of Decatur.
They wore amethyst long dresses with heart necklines and carried bouquets of roses and Hydrangeas.
The flower girls were Caroline Lowery, the groom’s niece, daughter of Chris and Amy Lowery of Decatur and Angela Tipton, the bride’s niece, daughter of Wayne and Olga Tipton of Paradise.
Candlelighters were Corbin Young of Paradise and Brian Christian of Decatur, both nephews of the groom.
The ringbearer was Zachary Tipton, the bride’s nephew, son of Wayne Tipton and Monica Slimp of Decatur.
Best man was Chris Lowery, brother of the groom, of Decatur.
Groomsmen were Rance Bryson of Richardson and Derek Read and Joey Tucker, both of Paradise.
Ushers were Bryan Tipton and Wayne Tipton of Paradise, brothers of the bride.

The bride is attending Texas Womens University and is employed at Messenger Hallmark in Decatur.
The groom attended Austin College and Baylor Law School and is a private practice attorney.
The couple will live in Bridgeport.
