Hefley Cemetery

Family tradition says that John Martin "Doc" Hefley asked that a cemetery be started on his land as he was ill from his Civil War service, and wanted to be sure of his burial plot. The cemetery is just across the paved road from the Boonsville Cemetery in southern Wise County, and on a rise behind a large barn owned in 1997 by the Womack family. Surveyed in 1988 and 1997 by La Darla Walker Keith, great-great granddaughter of John Martin "Doc" Hefley.
