Lewis Conner, the son of Lewis Conner, and the grandson of Thomas Conner, was born about 1785 in Marlboro, S.C.
He married about 1805 and had at least (our) Lewis Conner, born in 1806 in S.C.

Lewis Conner married Elizabeth Harley about 1832, either in Gorgia or Florida. He was found on a tax list in Florida, and her father was also paying taxes near the same time and is on the same list. I think he either came to Florida before marriage and met her in Florida; or if they were married previously, the whole extended family came into Florida, as was often the custom.

She married J.J. Love on October 20, 1853 in Newton County, Texas
4) Robert Thomas Conner born 1842 in florida; died 1925 in Hornbeck, LA
He married Lydia Chance on February 5, 1867 in Newton County, TX
5) Lawrence Hampton Conner born 1845 in Mississippi. He is buried in Oklahoma

It seems the family came to Texas from Mississippi prior to 1851.
During this time between 1845 and 1851 Elizabeth Harley Conner died. We have not determined her exact death date or place.

Lewis Conner married second Martha Ann Weeks on May 29, 1851 in Newton County, Texas.
Martha Ann, born February 18, 1832 in Copiah County, Mississippi, was the daughter of Robert Weeks and Ann White Weeks. At the time of their marriage, Lewis was 45 years old, (with children 6 years old, 9,12,16,and 18 years) and Martha Ann was 19 years old.

James Madison Conner (#2 of the second marriage) married Amanda Elizabeth Hines(about 1873). Amanda (1855-1917) was the daughter of Charlton Hines (1830-1865) and Emily Elizabeth Low (1834-1855). She was the granddaughter of Eli Low (1807-1848) and Drucilla Cook (1802-1865) and Elbert Hines (1797-1862) and Mahana Melton (1801-1859).
And the great-granddaughter of Isaac Low (1781-1853)and Elizabeth Parsons (1782-1860). All the above ancestors are Republic of Texas citizens having settled in Texas before 1835 (They actually settled in Sabine area in 1823, when it was still Mexico) and all are listed in the first Republic of Texas Census taken in 1836.
